The bowl and cover is made from a smooth, buff colored stoneware clay. The pot and cover were coated with rutile, tan colored glaze on the inside and carmel colored gloss glaze on the outside.

The pot is 6-1/8 inches in dia. and 3-1/4 inches high to the top of the cover. It holds 11 ozs and weighs 1lb.-4oz. without packing.

We use similar bowls in our kitchen. The following is a very quick winter lunch recipie:
The soup recipe, roughly....tuna or some meat, 2 heaping tablespoons of tomato or pizza sauce, 1 heaping tablespoon of salsa (I'm a wimp. I use mild), then 1 tablespoon of a choice of or all of cooked pasta, soaked lentils, quick barley. Then fill the rest with vegies of your choice. I've found frozen peppers and onions to be good. Then fill the bowl to your taste with unsalted beef, chicken or vegetable broth and then nuke 2m 10s, which works for our microwave.
