Stoneware serving plate. This plate is big, heavy and strong; stoneware. Serving plates such as this are handy in that while carving a turkey, they "STAY PUT". The plate is not so big that it cant be used for dining.

The clay used is slightly speckled, buff stoneware. The glazing consists of my tangerine and spruce under glaze and a clear covering glaze. The extra ring on the bottom is to protect the plate from warping under the high fire required for stoneware.

The plate is and 1" high with a 10-3/4" diameter. The plate weighs 2 lb 8oz.
