This is a standard motif for pottery since the 1700s. I like to adhere somewhat closly to the standard. My teacups and saucers tend to be larger than usual. I like tea and coffee and usually have something to eat with it. Cookies (bicuits?) fit nicely on the saucer.
The set is made from a light buff specled stoneware. The floating blue glaze requires a thick coat to show the deep look with varigation. The makeup to the glaze makes it somewhat translucent, hiding the clay color...which is ok. It looks nice.
The cup is 4-1/2 x 3-3/4 inches tall. The saucer is 6-1/4 x 1-1/4 inces tall. The set is 3-3/4 inches tall. The set weighs 1lb-3/8 oz without packing
