The cup is made from a buff speckled stoneware clay.The inside is glazed with a clear glaze while the outside is glazed with a reddish brown earth glaze. I painted my impression of flames with yellow and orange underglazes and outlined with a black sliptrailing. For me painting is not easy. I have a good command of paints on paper or canvas but I find painting on clay difficult. If it comes out like this cup, I'm ecstatic! The colors, which I formulated, came out iridescent. Yippee!
The cup's dimensions are approximately 4"H x 3"dia. The cup holds 12 ozs and weighs approximately 1 lb without packing.
