This is a prototype that inexplicably worked. It uses some glazes that are new to me. They are from recipes by Simon Leach.

The soup bowl is a twin that I use in the microwave at least a couple of times a week for my lunch. It's not big but it works well for part of my lunch. The cover contains the usual microwave splatters and explosions. I'll try to get my soup recipie onto my blog on the ETSY Pattern site.

The bowl is made from speckled stoneware clay. The base glaze was blow sprayed onto the pot. It is supposed to be a grey glaze. I think the speckles in the clay cast it to be brown. This was overpainted with sponge brush with a blue wash.

The pot is 5-3/8" in dia. and 4-3/8" high top the top of the cover. It holds 3/4 of a cup and weighs 1lb.-2oz. without packing.

The soup recipie, roughly....tuna or some meat, 2 heaping tablespoons of tomato or pizza sauce, 1 heaping tablespoon of salsa (I'm a wimp. I use mild), then 1 tablespoon of a choice of or all of cooked pasta, soaked lentils, quick barley. Then fill the rest with vegies of your choice. I've found frozen pepprs and onions to be good. Then fill the bowl to your taste with unsalted beef, chicken or vegetable broth and then nuke 2m 10s, which works for our microwave
