The jar can be used for storage or decoration. I found this type of jar is good for use in the refrigerator. I use them for storing coffee. Good for sugar and cookies too.The cover is recesessed down so it has a lower height for use in the refrigerator. It has two handles for easy grabbing.
The jar made of buff speckled stoneware, clear glaze over green, orange yellow and brown underglaze on the pot and the cover. The jar is 6" in diameter, 6-1/2" high and weighs 3 lb. 1 oz. without packing. It holds 6 cups to the bottom of the cover.
