This is a large cup in the tankard style and holds 1-1/2 cups. The cup is made from a buff stoneware clay. The inside is glazed with tan colored shino glaze while the outside is glazed with a Carmel transparent glaze.
I've called this a tankard because I used the design I've seen elsewhere for what's called a tankard by the Brits. I like their style. Tankards were made in colonial America too. As in Britain, at the time, they were simple cylenders with handles of various precise capacities.
The tankard's or cup's dimensions are 3"dia x 5"H. The cup weighs 15 oz. without packing.
