This is a large cup in the tankard style and holds 17 ounces. The cup is made from a buff stoneware clay. The inside and rim is glazed with buff colered liner glaze. The outside is glazed with a deep brown glaze.
I've called this a tankard because I used the design I've seen elsewhere for what's called a tankard by the Brits. I like their style. Tankards were made in colonial America too. As in Britain, at the time. They were simple cylenders with handles of various precise capacities.
The tankard's or cup's dimensions are 3-3/4"dia x 5"H. The cup weighs 16 oz. without packing.
